TESTIMONIAL CONTINUED

"I have been thinking of writing this note to you for quite sometime now, and within all of this time, I still find myself searching for the right words to describe how me and my family feel.

I LOVE MY HOUSE

When Roy and I first decided to build our home, we didn't know what to expect. We had heard so many stories, rumors, and of course, misfortunes of others, which made us even more nervous to proceed with such a large investment. We were naiive and inexperienced and were not certain what to expect. Even after our first general meeting in your office, we were not quite certain that building our dream home and investing our life savings was a possibility. You brought us to an open-house and we closely inspected the workmanship your company offers in building materials and designs. Blindly, we entrusted you with our finances and our dream.

Steve, I wanted to tell you how incredulously you exceeded our expectations of what a "building experience" was to be. From the first dig of the digger to the last polished porcelain floor tile, our experience has been positive! I, myself, was expecting all of these horrible experiences, the same as countless others who experienced them before me, to happen to our family. Much to an unexpected amazement, these such ideas were never encountered and any uncertainties of our future home would soon be put to rest-for good.

I would like to personally commend your decision of whom you contracted and hired to construct our home. As each day progressed, and each deadlline met, we inspected our property and home each evening. The craftmanship and attention to detail is not comparable to any other company. In my heart, I felt that your crew was building their own home and not ours. That, is how our family felt. There was no contension with precision, technique, and quality of materials used. It's as if, I personally hand chose each piece of lumber, or each stone, and even each nail. I didn't need to bother with inspecting any of the work completed in the construction.

The worksite of our home, inside and outdoors, was always kept neat, clean, and tidy. Your crew was always courteous, meticuous, and very accommodating. I was always greeted kindly and any of my concerns or questions, however trivial at the time, were handled efficiently and promptly. I cannot express to you how wonderful I felt seeing our home come alive day-by-day, and knowing that it could and would withstand a lifetime of memories. ....And, oh by the way......it didn't hurt that most of the crew, if not all, were good-looking too!!! Thank goodness for those hot, hot days :) My lady friends who supported me throughout this entire process are very greatful as well :) giggle, giggle.....

Now...

Although I cannot individually name all of the crew that had a hand in the construction of our home, and I do thank them very much for their excellent work and time they spent on our home, I still would like to recognize a few:

I appreciated SARA and KIM's dedication to the vision they shared with me in respect to the colors of our home. Color was to be an expression of what I wanted our home to reflect. I appreciated their guidance and soft push towards the bright and airy design of fun and modern. I love the reaction of people entering our home for the first time. I love the compliments we received about the colors we chose. I feel that our home is unique and these two great ladies helped make this possible. For that, thank you.

DANTE is a gifted "finesser" who took to heart with fine detail each element of our home. From the simple shelves in our closets, to the beautiful banister that greets you upon entering our home. I have never encountered such craftmanship and attention to detail. It was as if Dante was creating something for his home, and for his family. I would sometimes ask Dante a question about a color or design. I knew I could count on him 100% for his absolute honesty. He often remarked that he wanted us to be happy with our home and wanted the FICMAR experience to be a positive one. How could it not be when you have such an individual crafting your home, as are the rest of the crew who aided in this beautiful creation and in knowing that they are taking care in the work that they are doing for you and your family. These individuals take pride in the work that they perform and it shows so much now as I live in my home and enjoy it each and every day.

The experience of building our home wasn't just about some nails and a splash of paint. We were going to make some new memories here and it was going to happen very soon.

MARIO has such an honorable reputation and too shares an eye for detail. He was quite approachable and always available to address any questions or concerns that we may have had. He kept his crew on track and worked alongside them each day. Projects were completed and when he was there for our final inspection of our home, I felt reassured. I knew that anything that I asked of him would be addressed promptly. Roy and I didn't have any previous building experience, and we wanted to involve our extended families as little as possible. Whenever we asked Mario a question, it was often met with the matter already being attended to which only furthered our faith in him and in his representation of FICMAR. The man knows what he's doing and he makes certain that his crew does as well. He kept the gang going from early in the morning until quitting time in late afternoon. With hammer in hand, he worked side-by-side with his crew and was often the last to leave the site. We have greatly appreciated Mario's work and could only further push his reputation to the forefront. All that you hear about his work and job sites is absolutely correct!

Then there's FRANK.......Frank, Frank, Frank....or as my kids affectionately called him: PAPPI. Like my father, this generation of men work, work, and work. He diligently, without question, was on the job site promptly BEFORE 8 am in the morning and was ALWAYS the last to leave at night. I saw this man chop a tree in my backyard, sod an entire yard, and install weeping tiles. How do you thank a man who works so hard merely for the mere enjoyment of it? I find it no surprise that such a man instilled a great work ethic into his own son. Which now brings me to you, Steve!

STEVE, you made this entire project possible and my home a dream. I know that my house is unique and I love to show it off. I love that you pay special close attention to detail and that you have modern tastes. No matter at what stage of the project, you kept us informed and the project on track. I am very pleased with everything and remember it wasn't at all easy selling Roy on the idea of building a home let alone moving out of the old one. That house was his home. The only home he ever knew. He never left. He never went away to school or lived anywhere else. Once he began to see the lumber and bricks, all was erased. He was soooo excited to move in. He doesn't want to leave. I still need to pinch myself to remember that this is not all a dream. We really did build this remarkable place. There are days I literally dance in my kitchen or hug my island because I am so happy. This space, this beautiful, unique space is my home, and it belongs to me. Our home is a reflection of the time and care it took in its creation and I feel that each project is original and will not be easily matched.

Our building experience was genuinely positive and upon receiving the key to our new home, my mind was busily building another project again....

Would I build another home if given the opportunity? You bet! Not only would I build, but I would only use FICMAR.

Steve, thank you to all of you. As I said previously, words cannot say what my heart feels each time I see this beautiful place. I hope that others who plan to build will take my advice whole heartedly and choose a builder that they can trust because that is the advice that a very smart individual once told me in his office. "If you can't trust your builder, than you shouldn't be building."
